You can find part I here: https://yourskarah.com/identity-loss-in-the-church-identities/
There is so much going on with the vessels and organs of the body of Christ and the most is the identity loss in the body of Christ. Organs and vessels act like makers or do their own chosen functions, forgetting why they were made.
Imagine an eye saying, I do not want to see but hear. Will it be able to? NO. Because the organs are different and operate respectively, the body is said to be healthy and good. Paul writes it better, If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact, God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be?
So, I went back to the shop apologised and paid. With that conscience, consciousness and awareness, I held to the thought. Just in how many times have I done this? Telling myself lies, backing them with unproven facts and surreal realities? Should my being even trust this body and the thoughts it has?
That’s when I realised:
- How strong the flesh can be when the spirit is weak, heart and tongue deceitful Jeremiah 9:8,
- How they make-believe is easy when the body and the mind align on the same story Jeremiah 17:9
- How narratives we live with can affect our actions Hebrews 3:13
- Be watchful as you live in this body on this earth always strive for alignment with the Spirit and when you hear nothing, reach out to him 2 Kings 22:19
- Falling down (sinning or missing the mark) happens in chains of actions James 1:14-15
- Sometimes the beginning is not in what you think but received as a stimulus to thought and action Romans 12:3
- Humble your heart and open your ears to hear Daniel 10:12
- Obedience is better than sacrifice; Deuteronomy 5:33, 1 Samuel 15:22
- I need God to live this life at this moment. Philippians 4:19, Hebrews 4:16, Revelation 21:23
So, can you go back to the shop?
In Revelation 2:4-7, He speaks of the First Love. He says, But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first, or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent.
Can you go back to Jesus and see how you can live, move and have your being from there? It was a mistake and yes a missed mark, but you woke up today reading this message, a reminder of the unchanging gracious love God has for us and endless mercies. So, can we begin this journey again with a lesson that we need Him more than anything?
It can be grand, it can be not. But for that one thing that You and God used to live and walk together building; health, a business, school, family; someone you said to God, It is only You who can make this work for your glory.
Do you remember? Can you remember something that you used to light up talking about or doing? Something that you prayed to do, bring change to and you just could get up again and again because you knew and believed God was in it and about it? And with the strong energy and faith, you woke up daily expectantly of that next step?
Get back your Identity & to your Position in the body of Christ
Pray, Go back there and for it again. Nothing can change who you are to God, but this life can surely change your position in the Kingdom. And as much as life is not about here alone, hold on to your identity and position as a ruler for the King here on earth.
Can you take a break and look around?
See. Anything missing, or needs a change?
Can you take a moment now and then to see if you are still on the right path?
Obediently, take your time and think, analyse every action, step and thought. It is not like you need major preparations, you just do it, right now as you breathe taking a break from everything that keeps you busy, day in and day out.
Identity is just like a tree, it is better when it is alive and as wood is burnt when dead. Because in the end, how you finish matters and how you live correlates. How strong and aware you will wake up with tomorrow, depends on how you live and the choices you are making right now and the rest of the day. Your identity in Christ, your position in the body and your service (work-community) should be your focus in everything you do while alive.
Identity is just like a tree. It is better when it is alive and as wood is burnt when dead.
